Budapest

Image
I recently visited Budapest and below are some of my highlights of the trip. One of the first places we visited was the fisherman's bastion, we visited in the evening just as the sun was setting and it really was a beautiful place. The architecture looked like a fairytale castle with the white stone and turrets, as well as some gorgeous stained glass windows.   I've heard that its a great place to watch the sunrise as well! We also walked around Buda castle and gardens and this has some amazing views over Budapest from the top of the walls.  Another highlight for me was the Szechenyi thermal baths, one of the biggest natural hot spring spa baths in Europe. There are 18 pools in total, 3 large outdoor pools with fountains, jets and a whirlpool all heated so it feels like you are in a warm bath. There are also more intimate indoor pools as well as saunas, steam rooms and plunge pools from cold to hot, we spent a relaxing 2 hours here for around £15. ...

Top 5 reasons why the Wii U is underrated

Image
I'm going to be controversial and say it... I prefer the Wii U to the Switch! Now don't get me wrong this isn't a Switch bashing article, I think it's a great console and when the new Animal Crossing/Luigi's Mansion/Link's Awakening comes out the boyfriend won't be able to get near the Switch... BUT at the moment I am playing the Wii U again and below are some of the reasons I love it 1) The Games The Wii U had some amazing games, Mario Kart 8 is probably the best Mario Kart ever made (although I still love Double Dash), then you have Smash Bros, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors and the New IP Splatoon (I played this non stop when it came out!) to name a few. Sure you have all these on the Switch now as well, but in most cases they are just ports with more content added like Mario Kart. If you're anything like me I played the Wii U version of these games and although I loved them I don't want to replay them on the Switch...
